Halloween Happenings

Halloween 2019 has come and gone. I’m not sure I’ve ever worked in a school where they let the kids dress up in costume, but we did at PHS. My little first graders really did love wearing their costumes and sharing in fun activities throughout the day. And since PHS posted these pics on their FB page, I’m also sharing them here!

My first grade class that I share with Miss Abigail Deeken. There are 17 of them (only 5 of them are girls!).

Here is Derek’s third grade class. He has 15 students.

The kids have really missed the way we decorate for holidays and all of our annual traditions we do. There have been tears over no pumpkin patch, apple picking, pumpkin decorating, corn mazing, and trick or treating. And to be honest, I haven’t done the best at trying to fill that void. My focus on CCU’s closing has really commanded all of my extra time outside of the school day. One night Lucy decided to take it upon herself to decorate our apartment – and she did a great job. She had been saving these paper towel tubes to make decorations.

And because Xander knew to ask or it wouldn’t happen, I managed to put together candy treats on Halloween night.

I set the treats out at everyone’s placemat while I fixed dinner. It’s not in the picture, but Daddy had one too. When it was time to sit down and eat, this was at my spot – because one of my kids made it for me. 🙂

And, thanks to Nashana, I have these adorable fall pictures of Ellie.

Derek has started playing on the worship team at church, so he is really enjoying being able to worship in a way that is meaningful to him.

  1. Interesting that Halloween is celebrated in Kosovo!! Such cute pictures!
Prayers for your “untimely” stress of the closing of CCU!
