October is already halfway over! The month started out rough as I had strep throat (my nemesis). I spent an entire weekend in bed and missed some school. Boo! Derek was a champ and took the kids on lots of adventures while I was sick, but he doesn’t remember to take pictures, so I can’t share them here.

Dexter has decided to join the high school volleyball team. We will see how that goes! Practices start soon. We bought a volleyball and we play outside a lot. It is still beautiful weather here and we are trying to soak it up before cold weather keeps us inside. Lucy and Dexter go on their own to play. I love watching how my four kids rotate through different seasons of pairing up and playing together. It’s always changing.

The Halversons took the older three kids to a trampoline park and they had a blast!

While they were gone, Derek, Ellie, and I took a long walk and went to the mall. Here we are riding home in the taxi.

It was a great day for everyone.

I am very sad to say my Uncle Joe unexpectedly passed away. It is so hard not to be there to say goodbye and to be there for my mom. While we have had many positive experiences here, it’s also hard to be away from family when sad moments happen.
